Creative Play Sessions

Creative Play Sessions in Orlando: Art, Pretend Play, and Discovery at Ladybird Academy of Dr. Phillips

Ladybird Academy of Dr. Phillips runs Creative Play Sessions in Orlando for toddlers and preschoolers as part of full-day care. If you’re looking for a preschool with Spanish and sign language, we include both in your child’s learning. Your child spends time on art, pretend play, sensory play, and storytime. Our weekday care hours are 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM. We’re a Gold Seal day care center. You’re welcome to schedule a tour to see a session in person.

Hands-On Centers

Inside a Creative Play Session at Our Orlando Center

A creative play session at Ladybird Academy of Dr. Phillips moves toddlers and preschoolers in full-day care through our Creative Play Centers. Your child might paint in the Art Studio, act out a story in Playtown, our pretend play room, and then dig into a sensory play bin before storytime. Each center is built around hands-on activities, so your child learns by touching, building, and trying things out. If you work at or near Universal Studios Orlando, we’re the closest daycare to the park, just 2.6 miles away.

Pretend Play, Real Skills

Imaginative Play Builds Kindergarten Readiness Skills

Pretend play helps Orlando children get ready for VPK (Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten) and kindergarten. When your child plays doctor or chef, they learn new words, take turns, and solve small problems with friends. These moments support social-emotional learning, which means learning to name feelings and get along with others, and they help your child reach developmental milestones.

Early and Late Shifts

Creative Play Fits Full-Day Care for Dr. Phillips Working Families

Full-day care at Ladybird Academy of Dr. Phillips fits parents who work early or late shifts at theme parks, hotels, and Restaurant Row. Our weekday hours run 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM, and we offer flexible scheduling. Our programs are full-day, and creative play is part of the day. Your child also gets fresh, balanced meals every day from our on-site nutrition program. Our center is at 6809 Daisy St in Dr. Phillips.

Rain or Shine

Indoor and Outdoor Spaces Keep Creative Play Going Year-Round

Orlando weather decides where creative play happens at our center each day. Summers are hot, afternoon storms are common, and hurricane season runs June through November. On rainy days, play moves indoors to the library, Playtown, and the art room. When the sun is out, children head to the shaded playground equipment and the water play area.

Summer My Way Summer Camp, for ages 5 to 11, runs with weekly state themes. Campers get Monday water days and two field trips each week, with trips like Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake.
