Full-Time Child Care

Full-time child care in Orlando: All-day learning and care at Ladybird Academy of Dr. Phillips

In Orlando, many parents start work early and finish late. Ladybird Academy of Dr. Phillips offers preschool and daycare in Dr. Phillips for infants, toddlers, preschoolers and Pre-K students. Our full-time child care hours are 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM on weekdays. We’re a Gold Seal day care center. Your child learns with a real curriculum and teachers you’ll know by name. The easiest way to see if we fit your family is to visit.

A Real Workday, Covered

Full-time care fits Orlando parents who work long or shifting hours

Ladybird Academy of Dr. Phillips is open from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM, Monday through Friday, so full-time care can cover a real workday. Many Orlando parents work at the theme parks, in hotels, along the Sand Lake Road Restaurant Row, or in corporate offices. Those jobs often start before sunrise or run past dinner.

A 12-hour window gives you room on both ends. You can drop off before an early shift and still make pickup after a late one.

Hospitality shifts rarely stay the same for long, and flexible scheduling helps when your hours change from week to week. Bring your work schedule when you visit so we can talk through how it fits.

Our school sits 2.6 miles (about 13 minutes) from Universal Studios Orlando, which makes us the closest day care to the park. For parents who work there, that short drive matters at 6:30 in the morning.

A long day means more handoffs, so safety at the door counts. We use:

  • Key fob check-in
  • Coded door locks
  • ID checks for any adult we don’t know at pickup

The Standard

Gold Seal and dual accreditation set the standard for your child

Ladybird Academy of Dr. Phillips holds Florida Gold Seal Quality Care, awarded by the Florida Department of Children and Families. If your family just moved to Bay Hill or MetroWest from another state, you may not have friends nearby to ask about day care. Outside reviews give you a way to check a school without a referral.

On top of Gold Seal, we hold two separate accreditations:

  • A.P.P.L.E. (Accredited Professional Preschool Learning Environment)
  • N.E.C.P.A. (National Early Childhood Program Accreditation), valid through April 30, 2027

N.E.C.P.A. looks at how adults and children interact, and at how a school works with parents and the wider community. Those are things a quick visit can’t always show you. When you compare schools, ask each provider which accreditations it holds and when each one expires.

All of our teachers meet or exceed Florida state credential requirements, and all staff are CPR and First Aid certified.

Named Curricula

A full day runs on Abeka and Saxon Math, not guesswork

The full-day program at Ladybird Academy of Dr. Phillips uses the Abeka curriculum for early reading and Saxon Math for early math skills. If you want kindergarten readiness and not just supervision, a named curriculum tells you what your child is actually learning.

Abeka lessons build phonics, which means matching letters to their sounds. That work leads into early reading. Saxon Math teaches one small skill at a time and reviews earlier skills often, so numbers stick.

Young children can’t sit through long lessons, so we pair structured lessons with hands-on work in our on-site specialty learning centers:

  • Art Studio
  • Science Lab
  • Library
  • Computer Lab

Each room gives a different kind of practice. A child might count shapes in the Science Lab, then hear a story in the Library. As your child gets closer to kindergarten, we focus on getting them ready for that step, and the year ends with preschool graduation.

A full day of learning takes fuel. Our on-site nutrition program serves fresh, balanced meals every day, and our own cook prepares breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack right here.

Weather shapes the day, too. Central Florida afternoons get hot, and summer storms roll in fast. When that happens, play moves to shaded playground equipment or indoors to rooms like Playtown, our dramatic play room, so the day keeps moving.

From 6 Weeks

Infant and toddler rooms keep the same teachers day after day

Infant care at Ladybird Academy of Dr. Phillips starts at 6 weeks, with the same teachers in the room each day. For parents in Williamsburg and Sand Lake heading back to work after a new baby, a familiar face at drop-off makes the change easier.

Parents name the same infant teachers across multiple reviews. Each teacher stays with the same age group all day, and we keep required ratios at all times.

Feeding is part of our infant care, so let your baby’s teachers know how feedings go at home. We teach simple sign language to infants and toddlers, too, so they can show what they need before they can say it.

Potty training support works best when school and home match, so share what you’re doing at home with your child’s teacher.

Social-emotional learning starts early here. That means helping children take turns, name their feelings and get along in a group. From age 2, children begin conversational Spanish.

Stay Connected

Parents see the day through live cameras and app updates

  • Live Camera Access

Ladybird Academy of Dr. Phillips gives parents live camera access to classrooms during the day. Many Orlando parents can’t step away from work to make a phone call. A quick look on your phone can answer the question on your mind, even in the middle of a long theme park or hotel shift.

  • Real-Time App Updates

Real-time app updates keep you posted as the day happens, so you don’t have to wait until pickup to learn how it went.

  • Direct Teacher Messaging

You can message your child’s teacher directly, too. That works well for small things, like a late pickup or a change in nap time.

When a bigger concern comes up, our front desk handles it the same day, and parents say so in their reviews. And with our open-door policy, you can visit anytime during our hours with no notice needed.

Start With a Visit

Enrollment starts with a tour and a plan for every age

Enrollment in child care typically begins with a visit to the classrooms. Families from the Turkey Lake area and Bay Hill often plan to stay several years, so it helps to see each age group’s room up front.

Here are the steps:

  1. Visit the rooms.

Watch how teachers and children interact, and ask how ratios are kept.

  2. Ask about schedules.

Share your work hours and any shift changes.

  3. Complete child care enrollment.

Florida VPK (Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten) is free for eligible 4-year-olds, though families from other states may not know about it. Here, VPK runs during the school year only. Your child can attend VPK and stay with us for full-day care, so you don’t need a second provider.

We accept School Readiness (formerly 4C). Ask about it when you visit.

Orlando’s warm climate means outdoor play runs all year, and care continues into summer. Our Summer My Way camp serves ages 5 to 11 with weekly themes, Monday water days and two field trips per week, including Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake.
