Flexible Scheduling in Orlando: Child Care That Fits Your Workweek at Ladybird Academy of Dr. Phillips
Ladybird Academy of Dr. Phillips offers flexible scheduling in Orlando for parents whose jobs don’t keep regular hours. Our Dr. Phillips daycare center serves families who work early, late, or shifting hours near the theme parks. Your child’s care should fit that schedule.
Built for Busy Families
Flexible Child Care for Busy Dr. Phillips Families
Our flexible scheduling covers infants, toddlers, preschool, VPK (Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten), and after-school care. We’re open Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM. That gives you a 12-hour window to fit in drop-off, a shift, and the drive home.
We’re a Gold Seal day care center. Book a tour and bring your work schedule so we can plan your week together.

Early Starts, Late Finishes
Flexible Scheduling in Orlando Fits Shift Work Near the Theme Parks
Ladybird Academy of Dr. Phillips serves many parents who work in hotels, restaurants, and theme parks around Orlando. Those jobs often start early, end late, or change from week to week. A daycare that opens at 8 AM doesn’t help a parent who clocks in at 7. Our hours are built for that kind of work: you can drop off as early as 6:30 AM and pick up by 6:30 PM, Monday through Friday.
Location matters too. We’re 2.6 miles (about 13 minutes) from Universal Studios, the closest daycare to Universal Studios Orlando, so if you work at the park, your child is close by during your shift.
Jobs on Sand Lake Road’s Restaurant Row and along International Drive often run outside a standard workday. A breakfast shift may start before sunrise, and our 6:30 AM opening helps with that. A dinner shift may run into the evening, and that’s where our closing time matters.
Infants to VPK
Choose the Program Your Flexible Schedule Wraps Around
Ladybird Academy of Dr. Phillips offers infant care, toddler classes, full-day preschool, and VPK, and your schedule fits around the program you pick. Start by picking the right class for your child’s age. Then we plan the days and times around your work.
Infant care starts at 6 weeks old. Babies do best with the same faces each day. Parents name our infant room teachers in their reviews again and again, because those teachers stay. A steady teacher helps a baby settle in, even when your schedule shifts.
Toddlers and preschoolers learn with structure, not just free play. Your child learns with the Abeka curriculum and Saxon Math for early math skills, so a flexible week doesn’t mean a skipped lesson plan.
Florida VPK is free for eligible 4-year-olds. At our school, VPK runs during the school year only. If you’re new to Florida, VPK may be new to you. It’s the state’s pre-K program, and it focuses on kindergarten readiness. Because VPK follows the school year, plan ahead for summer care when you enroll.
Our school holds these credentials:
-
Florida Gold Seal Quality Care, awarded by the Florida Department of Children and Families
-
A.P.P.L.E. Accreditation (Accredited Professional Preschool Learning Environment)
-
N.E.C.P.A. Accreditation (National Early Childhood Program Accreditation)
Plan It on the Tour
Plan a Part-Time or Shifting Week During Child Care Enrollment
Child care enrollment at Ladybird Academy of Dr. Phillips is the best time to plan a shifting week. Whether you live in Bay Hill, Williamsburg, or Sand Lake, a good first step is a visit. You can visit anytime during operating hours, with no notice needed.
Bring your work hours to the tour. A printed shift schedule or a screenshot from your work app is enough. Talk with our team about which days you need and what drop-off times work best. Ask what our flexible scheduling can and can’t cover for your week, so you know the plan before you sign.
Ask about School Readiness (formerly 4C) during enrollment too. We accept School Readiness, and our team can talk with you about eligibility and next steps.
Many Orlando families move here from other states and may not know anyone to ask for a daycare referral. One visit lets you ask every question at once: hours, curriculum, safety, meals, VPK, and costs. You can meet the teachers and see the rooms before you decide.

Before and After School Care Built Around Palm Lake and Bay Meadows Elementary
Ladybird Academy of Dr. Phillips runs before and after school care for families zoned for Palm Lake Elementary and Bay Meadows Elementary, both part of Orange County Public Schools. Our bus serves both schools. We take your child to school in the morning and bring your child back to us in the afternoon.
Before-school drop-off starts at 6:30 AM. That gives early-shift parents time to get to work before the school day starts.
After school, your child has plenty to do until you arrive:
- Homework help
- Snacks
- Outdoor play and fitness
- Staff supervision until pickup
School bell times rarely match hospitality shift times. A school day may end in mid-afternoon, while a restaurant or hotel shift keeps going for hours. Our after-school care fills that gap, and you can pick up any time before 6:30 PM.
We serve ages 5 to 12 in our School Age classroom. Our bus serves Palm Lake Elementary and Bay Meadows Elementary only. If your child attends a different school, ask us at the tour so you know your options before you plan your week.

Stay Connected
Check In on Your Child’s Day From Work
Ladybird Academy of Dr. Phillips gives working parents three ways to check on their child without a phone call. That matters if you work long or late shifts and can’t step away at midday.
-
Live Parent Cameras
Watch your child’s classroom on our live parent cameras.
-
Real-Time App Updates
See real-time app updates as the day happens.
-
Direct Teacher Messaging
Use direct teacher messaging to send your child’s teacher a question.
Parents in our reviews say the front desk answers their concerns the same day. A quick reply helps when you’re on a shift and something is on your mind.
Commuters from MetroWest who drive I-4 can check the camera or app at the start of the drive. By the time you arrive for pickup, you know how the day went. You can ask your child about the science activity or the story they heard at storytime, not just “How was your day?”
Our safety steps also protect your child while you’re away. We use key fob check-in, coded door locks, and a phone in every classroom, and we ask unknown adults for ID at pickup.
Care All Year
Keep Care Steady Through Florida Summers, Storms, and School Breaks
Ladybird Academy of Dr. Phillips provides care year-round, which helps Orlando families whose jobs don’t slow down when school lets out. Your work may not pause for summer, and your child care needs keep going.
Our week-long Summer My Way Summer Camp serves ages 5 to 11. Each week follows a state theme. Mondays are water days. Campers go on two field trips per week, including one to Bill Frederick Park at Turkey Lake.
Central Florida summers are hot, and afternoon thunderstorms are common. When rain rolls in, play moves indoors. Your child can head to:
- The library for reading and storytime
- Playtown, our dramatic play room
- The art room for creative projects
On hot, dry days, the shaded playground equipment and our water play area help kids stay outside and cooler. The playground also has safety surfacing.
Hurricane season runs June through November, and storm weeks can disrupt your plans at work and at home. Talk with our front desk at enrollment about how we share updates with families, so you know where to look when weather changes the plan.
