Ready to Move Up
Signs Your Toddler Is Ready for a Toddler Classroom
We’re open weekdays from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM. The clearest way to judge fit is to see a classroom in action. Schedule a tour or call us at (407) 412-6908.
A toddler classroom suits a child who is ready for more group play and a steadier routine than home care or an infant room usually gives. Orlando parents moving a child into a toddler class often notice a few common signs:
- Your child walks steadily.
- Your child copies what other kids do.
- Your child wants new kinds of play.
- Your child can follow a simple routine.
Your child doesn’t need to show every sign at once. Each one hints at how your child may handle a room with more children and more going on.
Our toddler classes include play, stories, snacks, and outdoor time each day. A predictable rhythm helps toddlers learn what comes next, which can make the day feel calmer for them. If your child is used to a loose schedule at home, they may need some time to settle in.
Many families who moved to Dr. Phillips from the Northeast or Midwest don’t have friends or relatives nearby to ask for advice. A classroom visit helps close that gap. You can watch the routine for yourself and see how your child reacts to the room.

Licensed and Accredited
Gold Seal and Dual Accreditation Back Every Toddler Class
Florida Gold Seal Quality Care status backs every toddler class at Ladybird Academy of Dr. Phillips. Gold Seal status comes from the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF), and a center needs a DCF license before it can earn it. We’re licensed by DCF.
Ladybird Academy of Dr. Phillips also holds two accreditations:
- APPLE (Accredited Professional Preschool Learning Environment)
- NECPA (National Early Childhood Program Accreditation)
NECPA reviews how adults and children interact, along with how a center works with parents and the community. For toddlers, those two areas matter a great deal. Much of their learning happens through talking, comfort, and back-and-forth with teachers.
Dr. Phillips and Bay Hill parents often plan to stay with one center for several years, so checking credentials early makes sense. ZIP 32819 has a limited number of licensed, accredited providers, and Gold Seal status plus APPLE and NECPA accreditation gives you one clear way to compare them.

Structure, Not Just Supervision
Play, Stories, and Potty Training Fill Your Toddler’s Day
Toddler days at Ladybird Academy of Dr. Phillips give working Orlando parents structure, not just supervision. Your child moves through a planned mix of activities:
- Sensory play, which uses touch, sound, and texture to help toddlers explore
- Creative play centers with hands-on materials
- Storytime sessions that build early language
- Outdoor play on the playground
Our teachers give potty training support as part of the daily routine. It tends to go more smoothly when home and school use the same steps, because mixed signals between the two can slow progress. Real-time app updates and direct messaging with teachers make it easier to follow the same plan at home.
Your toddler gets fresh, balanced meals every day from our on-site nutrition program. Our own cook makes breakfast, lunch, and an afternoon snack on site.
Central Florida summers are hot, and afternoon thunderstorms are common. Outside, our shaded playground equipment and water play area help toddlers stay active in the heat. When storms roll in, the day moves indoors to our library, our “Playtown” dramatic play room, and our art room.
6:30 AM to 6:30 PM
Early Drop-Off and Late Pickup Fit Long Work Shifts
Ladybird Academy of Dr. Phillips is open weekdays from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM, which fits parents with long workdays. Dr. Phillips sits near Orlando’s tourism and hospitality corridor, including the theme parks, International Drive hotels, and Sand Lake Road’s Restaurant Row, where many parents work early, late, or shifting hours.
We offer flexible scheduling for work weeks that shift. We’re closed Saturday and Sunday, though, so weekend shifts will need another plan.
Check In From Work
Live Cameras and App Updates Show You Your Toddler’s Day
Live classroom cameras at Ladybird Academy of Dr. Phillips let you see your toddler during the workday without calling. Whenever you have a free minute, you can check in on class time. Our parent app also sends real-time updates about your child’s day and lets you message your child’s teachers directly.
Parents in our reviews say the front desk handles their concerns the same day. That matters most when a question comes up mid-shift and you can’t step away from work.
